Who Is Pastor David Oloo?

By Janet Moore

God raises a servant for every generation to fulfill his will for the people. This is what He has done with Pastor David Oloo. The servant of God was called at a young age to minister to afflicted people in Homa-Bay, Kenya. His ministry work is guided by the scripture that instructs all humanity to love one another as one loves him or herself.

David has obeyed the voice of the Lord and gone forth to establish a home for orphaned children. His efforts between 2005 and 2008 resulted in a simple home that can accommodate children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Under the guidance of his father, Bishop Nashon, he has offered these children a place full of love to call home. The demand has grown over the years forcing him to expand inevitably.

With limited resources and an ever growing demand the ministry has been strained. The elder children in the home require more than food, shelter and clothing. New children are coming into the home. This has sent the care givers into a frantic search for resources to ensure that the children under their care never walk hungry or naked. The servant of God also wants to ensure that no one coming to him for assistance will return empty handed.

The family at the home has grown beyond 25 children. Meeting their basic needs is no longer an easy task. With the support of well wishers, he has continued to expand the home. Taking away the children from poverty stricken extended families is the best way to lighten their burden. These families are faced with the challenge of taking in more members yet they cannot handle the current burden.

Pastor David dedicated his youth to taking in these orphans and offering them food, shelter and clothing. This is what God has called him to do. He relies on the support of well wishers to accomplish the goal of loving his neighbors as he loves himself. He has served for many years as a senior pastor at Christ Faith Evangelical Church. Through his leadership, this ministry has achieved a lot. It is in the process of transforming in order to serve a growing congregation in need of God better.

The new name referring to what was previously Christ Faith Evangelical Church is Good Shepherd House of Worship. The aim of this change is to enable the faithful to encounter Christ closely as opposed to the traditional church setting. A new phase in delivering the message of God has demanded a new name, just like Saul changed to Paul.

Kenya is a land that boosts of incredible religious and ethnic diversity. The population is kindhearted and hopeful and has an incredibly beautiful landscape to match their hearts. The issues that weigh the people of Homa-Bay down are sickness and abject poverty. It is upon Pastor Oloo, with the support of well wishers to lift the gloom that has befallen these people. Children are at the heart of his ministry.

The ministry has heavily relied on donor funding, resources whose use has been incredibly transparent. A large population has benefited through the support of this servant of God. Donors have expressed admiration of the progress and prudent management of these projects. It is through well wishers that these lives have been lifted.
