Important Things You Need To Know About LED TV

By Wanda Rosner

The world is evolving quite fast in terms of technology. It is wise to be in the know-how when selecting the right machines to incorporate into your everyday life. There are many features of the new LED TVs that older TVS did not have, which makes them much more enjoyable to have. However, if you do not set the correct settings for the TVs, it will be the same as using the older versions. Here are some things you need to know about LED TV before making a purchase.

The term LED is a popularized name used to refer to LCD televisions that have a series of diode backlights rather than cathode fluorescent lights. This means that is not actually a new species of TV, but a much more improvised version of the LCD television. The first ever TV of this generic to hit the markets was the Samsung LN-T4681F back in 2007. The maximum lifespan that the backlights can continue to shine brightly is around 100,000 hours, after which they become dull.

They have two main back lightings. The first one used in the previous models comprised a series of continuous LED backlights scattered along the back panel. The later ones involved trimming the width of the TVs by consolidating the backlights to the sides.

This new technology works on the concept of local dimming, which simply means that it has the ability to dim a single pixel individually in dark places of a picture or make it glow brighter in bright points of the picture. It does this by preventing light from escaping. This technology enhances the quality of the picture by improving on the color and contrast.

Another great feature is that it saves on power. It has been proven that these machines use an average of about 101 watts annually, which means that you can save about 40 percent on electricity bill. This is because their cells produce more light than fluorescent and can dim on and off anytime.

In the future, it is predicted that the machines will evolve by improving the 1080p graphics into full array graphics. This will mean much more sophisticated and defined graphics. As cool as this may sound, it may prove difficult because of the financial handicap of lighting all the 2.1 million pixels individually.

In addition, these cool machines have an incorporated gaming system that involve high rate of processing pictures and graphics to maintain the speed of a game. Because of this, you may have to dig little deeper into your pocket, but it is worth it. There are newer versions with 120Hz, 240Hz, and 480Hz that have increased efficiency.

The new LED TVs also have WI-FI connectivity plugged in them. This feature makes it easy to connect to the internet and browse the web, visit social websites and stream videos without having to connect many wires at the back. In addition, they also have integrated applications that come with the wi-fi, but you can easily download many other more.
